The Monopolies and Mergers Commissions in Germany and Austria have cleared the way for the takeover of Aeria Games Europe by ProSiebenSat.1 Games, a subsidiary of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group, operating internationally in the online and mobile games markets.

The newly formed publisher will operate under the name SevenGames. The takeover will see the entertainment group concentrating its games activities in Berlin and rising to the rank of third-largest publisher of online and mobile games in Europe.

The agreement, announced at the end of February, includes the company's registered offices in Berlin, as well as all international game franchises for PC and various mobile game brands. The subsidiary is being sold by its parent company Aeria Games & Entertainment, Inc. in the USA, one of the leading publishers and developers of games worldwide. With this new acquisition, ProSiebenSat.1 almost triples its games community from 27 to 77 million players, while at the same time doubling its portfolio from 19 to 39 licenses.
At its new location, SevenGames combines the strengths and assets of two established companies in the free-to-play market: Aeria Games brings outstanding competencies in game monetization and licensing, while ProSiebenSat.1 Games contributes its successful expertise in the fields of transmedia marketing and customer acquisition – all supported by a leading European television and digital entertainment powerhouse: ProSiebenSat.1.
