Castlot is a 2D Browser Based, role playing strategy MMO Game blending RTS (real time strategy) and RPG (role playing game) gameplay together.

Castlot is a free to play MMO game set in the early 6th century medieval era during Britains struggle against the Saxon invaders. The game will have two separate factions the Bright and the Dark. Led by Arthur, the Bright knights are responsible for protecting Britain and strike down those who would disturb its peace. While in the Dark faction, Lord Blackmore plans to eradicate every known power to rise as the lands prime ruler. The Game (Castlot) introduces multiple unprecedented features, such as Goblins and Framing system, various troop types and many more RPG elements like: character progression, equipment, questing and a storyline are infused with a world of war and turn based tactics.

The gameplay for Castlot is not the usual one for a RTS online game that you need to keep getting resources, gold, timber etc. to build your city up leaving you with lots of quests to do and having some fun to boot. Instead of the blind clicking and then usual waiting for a resource build to complete or upgrade, Castlot has much better tasks to offer, such as repelling a dragon, recruiting a hero by Reward or Conquer, exploring werewolf caves, seizing an annexed land and placing it in Reinforced Case to protect it.

The most important aspect in Castlot is battle, that looks decent for a Browser Based game, once started you do not have any direct control over it, you just watch a great rendered clip of the knights in battle. Prior to each fight you can set different attributes such as fight formation and which of your heroes will lead a certain unity in battle.

All in all Castlot is a game that succeed to stand out from the rest of the browser games pack, do not let yourself intimidated by the lack of any traces of ambiental sound or music, just give him a chance to glow and he certainly will shine.
